(Muslim Press) - Israeli troops detained more than 12 Palestinians in the Ramallah and Hebron districts during overnight raids on Tuesday, local sources said. According to an Israeli army spokesperson, seven Palestinians were detained from the central occupied West Bank district of Ramallah, five of which were reportedly detained for being "Hamas operatives," while two others were detained for "illegal activity." Israeli forces stormed the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah city, and detained four Palestinian men after breaking into several homes and breaking down doors without bothering to knock or alert residents. During the raids Israeli forces also damaged property under the pretext of inspections, local sources said. In Hebron, an Israeli army spokesperson confirmed five detentions, two of which were detained for being "Hamas operatives" and three more for "illegal activity."
