(Muslim Press) - Iranian official strongly rejected calls by some OPEC peers to delay a decision to increase its oil production after lifting of the sanctions against the country. “We don’t accept any discussion about the increase of Iran production after the lifting of the sanctions,” Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh said. “It’s our right and nobody can limit us to do it and we will not accept anything in this regard and we don’t expect our colleagues in OPEC to put pressure on us to continue sanctions against Iran.” In an interview with Press TV after arriving in Vienna for a key OPEC meeting, Zangeneh said that asking Iran to retain its oil production in levels that were required by means of the US-engineered santins is "not fair". Iran has no responsibility for the dire conditions in the global oil market where the prices have plunged by about 60 percent in a year, he added. “Iran has no responsibility in this drop and this is the responsibility of OPEC member producers and others who have produced more than the level of the ceiling of OPEC and increased their production instead of Iran,” Zangeneh said.
