(Muslim Press) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday that the emergence of terrorism in the Middle East and North Africa is greatly linked to foreign interference in these regions.Addressing the 38th General Conference of the UNESCO, Lavrov emphasized that terrorism is a great concern for Russia as the terrorists in the region are killing innocent civilians and are distorting the true image of Islam. Later on, after meeting UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, Sergei Lavrov told reporters that Russia hopes after repelling terrorists from the archaeological sites in Syria, the UNESCO will send expert archaeologists to assess the situation there, adding that the cultural and historical heritage in Aleppo, Palmyra and other areas in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq is a mutual heritage for all mankind.
