Several members of the Taliban militant group, including four top militants, were killed in an Afghan air raid in the province of Faryab. Some 20 Taliban militants were killed and injured in the airstrike on Friday, Afghan army officials in Faryab said. Meanwhile, the interior ministry said on Friday that the Afghan security forces thwarted a deadly attack in capital Kabul by arresting a suicide bomber and seizing a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED). This comes as the Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the group announced its summer offensive earlier this year and staged numerous attacks across the country including capital Kabul.
