Gazprom CEO says: Kiev’s debt for supplies of Russian gas to eastern Ukraine totals $212 mln. Ukraine’s debt for the supplies of Russian gas to eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions totals $212 mln, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller told a press conference on Friday. He said that if Naftogas of Ukraine considers the Donetsk and Luhansk regions the territory of Ukraine there should not be any "collision" in terms of payment, Itar-Tas reported. If Naftogas of Ukraine finds that these territories have other status it should say about it, he said. According to him, other trading company may also sign a contract with Gazprom. "We made a proposal and said that if you don’t pay for the supplies to the south-east than maybe you would agree that a trading company could sign such a contract in compliance with the Ukrainian law legislation But Gazprom did not receive any relevant response from Naftogas," Miller said. Miller also said that Naftogas of Ukraine’s penalty to Gazprom for violating "take-or-pay" rule totals $26.7 billion.
