Iran successfully launched a new home - made satellite into orbit on Monday, state IRIB TV reported.The domestically - made satellite, named Fajr, is equipped with GPS navigation system an was put into orbit aboard Safir launch vehicle. The home - made satellite was independently designed and built by the Iranian experts in aerospace industries of Defense Ministry and Iran ' s Electronic Industries Company, Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan says Iran had launched its first domestically - made data - processing satellite, the Omid(Hope), into space in 2009.
