Shia forces fighting alongside the Iraqi army have succeeded in taking back one of Iraq’s largest dams from the ISIS Takfiri group. Army commanders and Shia Badr fighters led the operation of retaking the Adhaim dam in northeastern Iraq. "Thanks to the combatants of the army and Badr, we were able to take control of the dam and have cleared the site completely," Says Badr commader. The operation began with retaking two of the four villages near the dam from the ISIS terrorists, and progressed with capturing the other two afterwards. It was led by helicopter strikes, mortar fires and jet fighters with pro-government forces seizing more than 10 vehicles, including Humvees and armored personnel carriers, and destroying the rest. The ISIS terror group still holds control of large areas of eastern Syria and northern Iraq. They have been carrying out horrifying acts of terror, including public decapitations of members of different communities, such as Shias, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians.
