The US strongly condemns the brutal murder of British citizen Alan Henning by the ISIS and will continue taking decisive actions to degrade and ultimately destroy the terrorist group, President Obama stated. "Mr. Henning worked to help improve the lives of the Syrian people and his death is a great loss for them, for his family and the people of the United Kingdom. Standing together with our UK friends and allies, we will work to bring the perpetrators of Alan's murder – as well as the murders of Jim Foley, Steven Sotloff and David Haines – to justice," Obama said in a statement on Friday. ISIS released a video Friday purportedly showing the beheading of British citizen Alan Henning, an aid volunteer who was taken captive by ISIS on December 26 after crossing the Turkish border into Syria. ISIS also known as ISIL has been fighting against the government in Syria since 2012 and advanced into portions of northern Iraq in June 2014. ISIS continues to wage war in an attempt to establish a caliphate in these areas.
