The foreign - backed militants operating in Syria are targeting the civilization of the entire Middle East, a political commentator said.
Naseer al - Omari said in an interview with a news agency on Thursday that the militants, backed by certain regional countries, are the “true enemies of civilization in the Middle East and beyond. ” He added that Turkey is allowing the militants into Syria to act against the government of Syrian President Bashar al - Assad.
“I think different countries have different agendas in Syria, but there is agreement, like, among Turkey and Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries that fighting the Assad government is an objective and a goal that should be pursued for the time being, ” said al - Omari.
He noted, however, that the terrorist militants in Syria have no real friends and will thus emerge losers. “I believe these groups will lose in the end because they truly have no friends. Even Turkey is not exactly happy with the Sharia Law that these groups have established,” stated al-Omari. He said that the militants are making it difficult for the Syrian people to spell an end to the ongoing “bloody conflict in Syria.” Human Rights Watch (HRW) released a report on Friday saying the Takfiri militants in Syria killed 190 civilians and held over 200 others hostage in the country’s western province of Latakia in August alone. The 105-page report was compiled based upon on-site investigation and interviews with 35 people, including the survivors of the attacks. According to the report, in some cases, the extremists executed or gunned down entire families. A vast majority of the hostages are also women and children. Since the outbreak of the turmoil in Syria in March 2011, several video clips have been released showing the grisly crimes perpetrated by the foreign-sponsored terrorists against innocent civilians in the country. A very large number of the militants in the Arab country are reportedly foreign nationals.
