Senior Swiss official Wolfgang Amadeus Brulhart has arrived in the Iranian capital, Tehran, to hold talks with the Islamic Republic’s authorities.
Heading a delegation, the director of Middle East and North Africa Division of Switzerland’s Foreign Ministry arrived in Tehran on Sunday. On the first day of his visit, Brulhart held talks with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi and Abulqasem Delfi, the head of Foreign Ministry’s West Europe Department. Both sides expressed hope that the two countries will tap into their existing potential to expand political, economic, cultural and parliamentary relations. The Iranian and Swiss officials also discussed the recent developments in the region, stressing that diplomacy and dialog are the way to establish peace and security.
