At least 27 people have been wounded in clashes between supporters and opponents of Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi.
The clashes happened on Wednesday in the northern governorate of Fayoum following a press conference organized by the Muslim Brotherhood in support of the president. Reports say most of those injured are Muslim Brotherhood members. Meanwhile, in another location in Egypt in the Nile Delta clashes occurred after Morsi appointed several Muslim Brotherhood members to government posts. Morsi appointed seven new regional governors all Muslim Brotherhood. This means that 11 of the 27 Egyptian governorates are under Muslim Brotherhood’s control.
