Violence has claimed the lives of at least 11 people and injured three soldiers in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi. Police said that they recovered four bodies from Malir area of the city early on Wednesday. Officials say the victims have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen a few days earlier. At least three paramilitary soldiers also sustained injuries in a grenade attack on Wednesday night. On Tuesday, unidentified gunmen shot down seven people in various areas of the city. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks. Thousands of people have lost their lives in bombings and other militant attacks in Pakistan since 2001 when the country entered an alliance with the US in so-called war against terrorism.
