Islamabad, April 25, IRNA – A senior Pakistani journalist on Thursday said that western countries must accept Iran’s right to enrichment as the Islamic Republic is fully cooperating with the International Atomic Energy Agency over their nuclear activities.
Talking to IRNA, Muhammad Saleh Zafar said sanctions have proved a futile exercise against Iran as the country is progressing in all fields and has become self sufficient. He added the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has not reported any evidence against the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program. He strongly supported Iran’s nuclear program adding that it is fundamental right of Iran to develop peaceful nuclear technology. The journalist expressing his views said that talks between Iran and western states must continue and should be result oriented. Saleh Zafar added that Iran is a peaceful nation and the West has to accept Iran’s peaceful nuclear right. The analyst added that Iran is fully cooperating with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). “There is no reason for West to doubt over Iran’s peaceful nuclear program,” he said. The analyst was of the view that despite sanctions Iran’s achievements in defence and technological sectors are remarkable. He said that
sanctions against Iran should be lifted. He said that steadfastness of the Iranian nation has made Iran self sufficient. “They are not dependent on western states to survive,” he added. Saleh Zafar that Iran is fully capable of countering all western challenges. “Sanctions have proved a futile exercise against Iran,” said the journalist. The US and its allies accuse Iran of pursuing a military nuclear program. Iran rejects western allegations against its nuclear program, insisting that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the IAEA it has the right to peaceful nuclear technology.
