Kurdish forces have been advancing against ISIS (also known as Daesh) in the Syrian city of Tabqa, which has been under siege for weeks.
Forces are reportedly moving towards the terrorist group’s stronghold of Raqqa.
Also in northern Hama, the Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units, backed by the country’s Air Force, continued massive attacks against terrorist groups.
The Syrian forces killed and injured a large number of militants.
More than 20 militants were killed by the units when they attacked a gathering center of the terrorists in the western area of the town of al-Zalaqiyat.
According to military sources, the remaining pockets of the terrorists called for immediate assistance in order to fend off Syrian forces.
Earlier, a military source disclosed that the Syrian Army Special Forces have been equipped with advanced weapons to intensify battle against terrorists in Northern Hama.
It came after reports said that the terrorist groups have been equipped with US-made anti-tank TOW missiles to strike the armored and military vehicles of the Syrian army.
The military source also said that the Syrian forces have been using modern electronic anti-drone devices and systems to jam the waves and the function of terrorist groups' drones.
