Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Saturday that accusations made by the Jordanian king against the Islamic Republic reveals his shallow attitude towards regional developments.
Qassemi made the remarks while reacting to Jordanian King Abdullah’s allegations against Iran in a recent interview with an American newspaper when he said Iran supports terrorism.
The Jordanian king arrived in the US on April 5 to hold talks with President Donald Trump.
“The Jordanian king was better to have a look at the official statistics released about terrorists from his country who joined Daesh (ISIS) and other ignorant and murdererous groups and then talk about Iran which is at the frontline of fighting terrorism and extremism and trying to consolidate regional security,” Qassemi said.
He further said that there is no doubt that a major part of the existing situation in the region is rooted in mistaken attitude of the certain countries’ politicians towards political issues and adoption of wrong and destructive policies which can eventually push the entire region towards insecurity and instability.
Qassemi also advised the King Abdullah to spend a little time on studying logic, history and geography of the region as to better understand the situation.
