Israeli forces have abducted three Palestinians while trying to cross the “Container roadblock, northeast of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, IMEMEC news reported.

The incident happened on Tuesday evening. According to local sources, the soldiers stopped and questioned the three Palestinians before abducting them.

Omar Rajoub, 18, was among the three abducted Palestinians. He is a student of Birzeit University, in central West Bank.

The soldiers also closed the roadblock, and launched extensive searches of cars and residents, interrogating many of them.

In another incident on Wednesday, Shafiq al-Halabi, the father of Mohannad, who was killed by Israeli army last year, declared a hunger strike to protest his detention without charges, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) reported.

Shafiq was imprisoned on January 29, after being summoned for interrogation at the Ofer Israeli prison and interrogation center, west of Ramallah, in central West Bank.

He was then taken prisoner, and to protest his detention by the Israeli military, Shafiq declared a hunger strike.

Shafiq’s son, Mohannad Halabi, was killed by Israeli army fire on October 3, 2015, on the charges of stabbing to death an armed Israeli man and killing another person and wounding two others with a settler’s gun.
