During the latest US attacks on militants in Yemen, a baby was shot in his mother’s womb and died 48 hours after birth, Yemen Updates reported.
On Sunday, US Special Forces carried out an operation in central Yemen, targeting the house of a suspected leader of al-Qaeda in Yemen.
Following the operation, US officials confirmed that one Navy commando died and three more service members sustained injuries.
According to reports, scores of civilians were killed and injured, including an eight-year-old girl whose father and brother were killed in drone strikes six years ago.
During the clandestine mission, the US commandos were dropped near the target location and engaged in a firefight with suspected al-Qaeda militants. This was the first US military operation in foreign countries under Donald Trump.
Days ago, Yemeni army forces targeted a Saudi military vessel in a missile attack off the coast of the country’s western province of Hudaydah.
Saudi Arabia has waged a war on Yemen since 2015. Launched in an attempt to bring back the former Yemeni president to power, the Saudi aggression has killed at least 11,400 Yemeni people, according to local sources.
The UN humanitarian coordinator for Yemen says the war has claimed the lives of 10,000 people and left 40,000 others injured.
