Israeli regime has attacked the besieged Gaza Strip after an alleged rocket attack from Gaza targeted the occupied territories.

Tank shells hit on observation post belonging to Hamas, near the northern city of Beit Hanun on Wednesday.

Hamas and local residents said no one was injured during the attack.

According to Hamas security sources, the post was run by the resistance movement's military wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades.

Hamas security officials said that Israeli jets also carried out two strikes in eastern part of Gaza Strip, and two other airstrikes targeted the southern city of Khan Yunis and the al-Tufah neighborhood in Gaza.

Israeli reconnaissance planes were hovering over Beit Hanun, local sources maintained.

the strikes came hours after Israeli military said a rocked hat hit a street of Sderot in the occupied territories.

 Micky Rosenfeld, Israeli police spokesman, said on Twitter that the incident caused some damage, but no injuries were reported.

Israel has waged three wars on Gaza Strip starting 2008. The 2014 offensive, killed over 2,200 Palestinians and over 11,100 others were injured.

Gaza has been under the Zionist regime's siege since 2007. The blockade has caused unprecedented levels of unemployment and povery in the Palestinian coastal enclave.
