Three Iranian sisters have won medals at the 9th edition of Asian Wushu Championships in Taiwan.

Iranian wushu practitioner, Shahrbanoo Mansouriyan, demonstrated a brilliant performance in the last contest of women’s minus 65-kilogram category of the Sanda (sparring) discipline at the indoor Taoyuan Arena in the northwestern Taiwanese city of Taoyuan. She defeated her opponent, a representative from Vietnam and was able to collect the gold medal.

Her sister, Elaheh Mansouriyan,exhibited an impressive performance earlier in the tournament and clinched the gold medal.

Soheila Mansouriyan was also able to collect the bronze medal for Iran.

Seddigheh Daryaei, Maryam Hashemi were two other Iranian women who picked up bronze medals for the country.

Iranian wushu team managed to clinch fifteen medals to finish second at the Asian Wushu Championships in Taiwan.

Also in the men’s categories, Erfan Ahangarian, Yazdan Mirzaei, Moein Taghavi, Morteza Azimi, Mohsen Ahmadi, Reza Khalafzadeh, and Amir Mohammad Rezaei demonstrated brilliant performances and pocketed gold medals for the country.

The 9th edition of Asian Wushu Championships started in Taoyaun, Taiwan, on September 1 and ended on September 5, 2016.
