Syrian Army forces and the country's Air Force have targeted Jeish al-Islam's defense lines in Eastern Ghouta, in order to launch the final step of liberation operation of Douma, informed sources told Fars News Agency.

According to the sources, the Syrian forces stormed Jeish al-Islam's defense lines near the town of Arbin, while the country's air force targeted the terrorists' strongholds in al-Reihan farms near Douma.

"Terrorists' gatherings in the town of Outaya came also under heavy strikes of the Syrian army," the unknown sources said.

The sources went on to say: Fierce clashes are underway between the Syrian government forces and Jeish al-Islam near Hawsh al-Zavahereh. The army has gained upper hand in the battlefield.

"The army men have also engaged in heavy fighting with terrorists on al-Mohammadiyeh road," they added.

Also in another development on Saturday, The Syrian Army forces and the National Defense Forces fought against Jeish al-Islam in Hawsh al-Nasri in Eastern Ghouta.

"Tens of terrorists stormed pro-government forces' strongholds from Shifouniyeh and Hawsh al-Zawahereh to prevail over their position and capture the newly-liberated Hawsh al-Nasri, but they failed due to strong defense of the Syrian army men and popular forces," the unknown sources said, Fars reported.

New popular forces arrived at the battlefield in the beginning of clashes and did not allow the terrorists to advance and fended off Jeish a-Islam's large-scale attacks from the Western farms of Hawsh al-Nasri, according to the sources.
