Israeli forces on Monday shot and injured a Palestinian man during an attack in al-Duheisha refugee camp. The forces also detained two others.
According to Palestinian sources, on Monday morning, undercover Israeli forces attacked al-Duheisha, which is located south of central Bethlehem in southern West Bank, to detain suspects.
A young Palestinian man was shot in the leg during Israeli forces’ attack.
The forces stormed the camp with undercover officers and then detained Mustafa al-Hasanat, and Yazan Jeuidi, both of whom are 23 years old.
Israeli sources said that the two Palestinians who were detained in the attack were suspected to be operatives of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is considered a terrorist group by Israel, the US, and the EU. Israel also considers most of Palestinian political parties as terrorist organizations and therefore, most Palestinians, especially the youths, who are actively participating in the political arena in the occupied Palestinian territory, risk their lives and face the threat of being imprisoned by Israeli regime.
Israeli forces have carried out raids against Palestinians which have injured 2,370 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of 2016, according to a report by the UN Office for the Coordination of the Humanitarian Affairs.
In the recent year, some Palestinian were shot in the eye and have lost their sight due to the use of rubber bullets by the Israeli forces.
