According to battlefield sources, the Yemeni army has shot down a Saudi spy plane and destroyed an Abrams tank in the kingdom’s South and Southwest.
"The Saudi spy plane was downed in Mojazeh border region in Assir province," al-Masira news agency quoted a military source as saying.
The source said that the Abrams tank was destroyed by the Yemeni army with a TOW anti-tank missile. The incident happened in Rajla military zone in Najran province on Sunday.
In another incident on Saturday, the Yemeni forces attacked Saudi military positions in the kingdom’s Najran province.
The attack destroyed scores of tanks and a number of military vehicles belonging to the Saudi forces.
Earlier this week, several top Saudi officers, including a senior Saudi commander, were killed in the same area by the Yemeni forces.
The Yemeni army and popular forces fired missiles at Saudi tanks in Najran province, and killed the armored unit commander of the Saudi Army's 84th Division who was also deputy commander of Rajla military base along with other senior Saudi forces," an unnamed military source said on Monday.
On Monday, the Yemeni army, with the help of popular forces, fired a ballistic missile at a Saudi military base in Jizan province as a retaliation against Saudi Arabia’s strikes against the Yemeni people.
