There are a number of American Democrats right now angered because Trump (and I refer to him as "Trump" and not President Trump because I have no respect for him) cut arms shipments to the Syrian rebels fighting the Assad government. I don't like Trump, and I can't stand the man because he's a tyrant. But even a broken clock is right twice a day and this decision he made was right.
First, U.S. arms shipments to the Middle East have always armed existing conflicts to fulfill the ongoing goal of the United States government to destabilize the region, exploit Sunni/Shiite divisions, and keep countries and factions warring against one another. The United States saw the danger of Middle Eastern unity during the 1973 Arab Oil Embargo which punished the United States deeply for another arms shipment it made. That time, to Israel during the Yom Kippur War. The 1973 Embargo severely damaged the U.S. economy and it really never fully recovered.
Be that as it may, the U.S. government has often armed both sides in a conflict, trained factions from both sides, made deals with one side then broken the deal and backed the other, and claimed to want peace while funneling vast amounts of weapons into the region. This simply must stop. If there is to be peace, the weapons shipments must stop. I don't care to whom the weapons are going, they need to stop going. Wars don't escalate into the cataclysm the Syrian Civil War has become unless someone is arming the ones fighting Assad with serious firepower that is only available from Western governments. And Western governments with zero control over how the weapons are used once there.
American Democrats claim to be against guns unless it's their party policy or president giving guns to people in other countries. And the people in other countries do the dying, far from view of those Americans who felt this a good idea. Then once they see the carnage and suffering on television, they wonder how it all began and why it does not end. Because you supported arming this conflict! That's one big reason how and why! You cannot claim to be in favor of peace and support shipping weapons into a conflict that, first, you do not have the intelligence to understand or, second, a conflict that does not concern you in the least.
I was not at all surprised to hear Democrats condemn the decision to stop arming factions in the Syrian Civil War. If it had been a Democrat that did so, they would have supported the decision and then soundly condemned the Republicans that support funneling weapons into this war. But as it is, they are no different than Republicans who support funneling weapons into a war such as this where no one has the moral credibility to ship weapons at this point. Not with as many civilians as are dying in this war they don't. That U.S. weapons have killed tens of thousands of civilians in this war is as obvious as the sun in the sky. And in that, any American who supports shipping weapons into this war is just as guilty as the men who pulled the triggers of them.
When American political parties would rather do what they know to be wrong as a matter of party loyalty and hundreds of thousands of people die as a result, it can be seen both parties are truly evil. They say and do what they know to be wrong, and results in the deaths of innocent people. Then they think putting a peace symbol sticker on their car absolves them of this guilt. No! If you support sending weapons into a war, you have the blood of children on your hands. Period! Don't hand me this ignorant nonsense about Trump doing this because Russia asked him to and justify your position that way. There is simply no way to support shipping weapons into this war and call yourself good.
The Democrats sit there and would rather Syrians die so things look good. This is one of the worst kinds of evil, where human life is reduced to pawns on a chessboard. That is, after all, what the United States government has been doing in the Middle East for decades now. Democrats are fine with that if it isn't U.S. soldiers dying in the conflicts. This is disgusting. This comes right out and says American lives are worth more than Middle Eastern lives and smacks of racism, perceived American national "superiority", and colonialism. Democrats sit there and mumble "racial equality" while they plainly do not practice that when it comes to the Middle East. They'd rather sacrifice another 200,000 Syrians than have Trump do something they don't like.
The people of the world should not be fooled into thinking everyone against Trump here is on their side. In fact, many of the Democrats against Trump are no better morally speaking. They have proven themselves willing to sacrifice the lives of tens of thousands of human beings in Syria just to play some political game of hating Trump no matter what he does. Anyone in American politics right now should not be and cannot be trusted. Because the price paid for trusting them is paid for in human lives.
