In an interview with Muslimpress.com, Stephen Lendman, host of the Progressive Radio News Hour, emphasizes on the role that the BDS movement plays in combating decades of Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.

Here's the full text of the Interview:

MP: Benjamin Netanyahu has recently claimed that Israel has defeated the BDS movement. What’s your take on this?

Stephen Lendman: BDS terrifies Netanyahu and other Israeli hardliners. It continues gaining traction, the most important tool in combating decades of Israeli ruthlessly. I’m a cultural member.

MP: Critics of this movement describe it as “anti-Semitic”. How do you react to this?

Stephen Lendman: I’m Jewish but far from self-hating, an oxymoronic description of activists like myself. I’m committed for Palestinian liberation and proudly call myself a Palestinian.

MP: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has prohibited his state from doing business with companies that boycott Israel. What’s your views on this? How do you see the future of this movement in the United States?

Stephen Lendman: Everything anti-BDS figures like Cuomo throw at the movement makes it stronger, not weaker. Years from now in hindsight, BDS may be seen as the key force ending occupation harshness and discrediting Israel entirely.

MP: What should the movement do in order to urge American people to fight the atrocities that Israel commits against Palestinians?

Stephen Lendman: Combating evil requires educating people about it. BDS does it well. Pressure has to be maintained. I know Israelis deplore me. Nothing they might throw at me can deter my activism for long denied justice.

MP: How do you analyze the impact of the BDS movement throughout the world?

Stephen Lendman: BDS is growing worldwide. Grassroots activism is hard to stop when totally committed for vital change.

MP: How do you compare apartheid-era South Africa to present-day Israel? Would sanctions against Israel be as effective as sanctions against apartheid South Africa?

Stephen Lendman: Israel is much worse than apartheid S. Africa, its high crimes some of the worst in world history. I believe the way to defeat its agenda is by targeting it politically and especially economically. Sanctions and isolation are key.
