A narration from Imam Sadeq (AS) mentioned that the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) ascended. According to narrations and commentaries ascension (Mi’raj) is referred to the bodily journey of the Prophet (PBUH) from Mecca to Baitul Moqaddas, from there to the skies and then returning to Mecca. According to Islamic narrations this particular type of ascension occurred only once and just for the holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH). However other ascensions (similar in some stages) by other prophets of Allah (SWT) also occurred like Prophet Suleiman (AS), Prophet Idris (AS) and Prophet Jesus (AS). Of course other ascensions in different circumstances may have occurred for the Prophet of Islam (PBUH).
